weighing in at 50lbs the rough blank still has to shed at least 40% to get into shape, the finished rudder may even weigh less than the min 60lbs class limit at about 1/3 the cost, the structural core is made up of 3/4" Douglas Fir laminated with epoxy and 9oz tape, a skin of two layers of 6oz cloth will be all that is required

Just south of the Newport Bridge (RI), a monstrous cloud turned off the lights over Narragansett Bay last Saturday. Notice the funnel (center) that actually touched down between Castle Hill and Beavertail Lighthouse! Moments later a white wall of torrential rain, 4' waves, and gusts to 50kts reduced visibility to 100ft!

we sailed through it! boom was buried on a broad reach with main only, rounded up and all over in 5min, zero damage

6 layers of chopped strand fibreglass mat for the outer skin

2 layers of chopped strand fibreglass for the inner skin plus 3/4" plywood filler to form epoxy/colloidal silica ring for fasteners

the exploitation of children to realise personal ambition and goals safely set in the world of children
scheduling volleyball/basketball/soccer/football/cheerleading/andeveryotherconceivablegame practices/events morning/noon/night on sundays public holidays and any other conceivable free time available
with little regard for the impact it has on family life
hence the almost impossibility to get ones own children on a sailboat to learn to sail enjoy and appreciate the environment and its elements
an experience that will help them to mature and be eager and able to face the challenges presented by adult life and not themselves recede into
PETERPANDEMONIUM

the similarity between successfully navigating a sailboat with reliance upon intellect knowledge intuition and elements of nature and charting ones personal course through life is apparent
why do we as parents allow this abuse of our children if we really care?
just to be thanked from a peterpandepodium for our personal sacrifice and commitment to the selfish goals of a peter or petra pan?
